[MMA Round 3] La Pieta (Story Added)

Her heart swelled when she first laid her sights on the scene before her. Sister against sister, her shining lights, enveloped in strife and struggle. Her chest heaved as Messier 1 drew in a sharp, gasping breath, her hands shooting up to cover her mouth, and her eyes welling with heat. Through her tears, she made out the dark figure before her, cape whipping at the electrified air, the wind a relentless gale of ozone perfumed in sanguine musk.

“Cecily...” Messier 1 could have choked on her name.

NGC 6402 smirked at her, air crackling all around. The spark in her eyes were sharp enough to pierce through Damkianna, but neither would look away.

The dark sister dashed towards Messier 1, swiftly, a pulse of energy, lightening.

Damkianna raised her hand before her, palm out, to meet Cecily. The tips of her fingers only just met the sturdy, cold, hollow chest of her sister, and in that moment time could have frozen.

“My darling Cecily...” Such sorrow in her voice, she closed her eyes and allowed the hot tears to fall down her cheeks. Cecily's darkness drowned in the light that began emanating off the mother messier as she channeled the goddess Ishtar, transforming her into NGC 1952.

“I have carried you, my darling Cecily.”

The dark sister's eyes widened as her strength began rush from her legs, a burning well of gravity in her chest, concentrated where NGC 1952's fingertips touched. Damkiana placed her other hand to the small of Cecily's back, and her fingers began to pull away from her sister's chest. Cecily's body began to fall limp, her sunburst drifting above her form as NGC 1952 cradled her, weightless.

Damkianna leaning forward to kiss her sweet sister on her icy forehead and whispered softly.

“I will carry you again.”

This was SO difficult. Not only could I not find the pose I really wanted, but the shapeliness of the characters made it difficult to make this image flow without Cecily and NGC 1952 looking like one figure. Definitely the hardest piece I've worked on, figure wise, which left me to use hubble images of M1's crab nebula as her aura. This was an attempt to use both SenshiStock and various depictions of La Pieta as the pose reference for this. I'm not sure whether that translated.

The scene was difficult to write, as well, as NGC 1952's role in the battle is more of a support. So she had to do the only thing she possibly could. She had to take the soul of her sister. Now, remember, NGC 1952 cannot destroy souls, she can only carry and protect them, usually within herself.
